TeeMailer provides permission marketers ways to avoid filtering, the foremost of which is picking words and phrases carefully. We have also launched several features to enable our clients to communicate with their customers without their emails being falsely identified as spam. And with research showing that the cost of spam false positives can easily exceed $50 per user per year and will cost U.S. businesses about $3.5 billion in 2004 (the overall cost of spam is now estimated at over $10 billion annually), it is now more important than ever to prevent valid emails from being falsely labeled as spam.

Content Detective
TeeMailer has a proprietary system called the "Content Detective" to help our clients ensure that their permission-based emails avoid being erroneously labeled as spam due to content filtering. This feature mirrors the logic used by spam filtering software to identify words, phrases, and patterns that are likely to trigger filters, then recommends a resolution to each identified problem, before an email is sent. Content Detective is included in your annual contract.

List Detective
"List Detective" validates list integrity and ensures that email is only sent to valid addresses. List Detective scans each address as they are uploaded to our system checking for known 'seed' addresses that indicate a list may be non-permission based. If they are found, the email addresses are not uploaded and the TeeMailer Abuse Desk is notified. These include known unsolicited addresses, planted addresses, and addresses that don't belong to an individual, such as nospam@, postmaster@ or abuse@.

Domain Monitoring
To ensure we don't trigger any volume filters, TeeMailer employs domain-level monitoring to manage the number of connections opened for each ISP domain at any one time. This ensures emails are delivered at a maximum rate without triggering volume filters at large ISP's such as AOL or Yahoo. Due to the large percentage of users with major ISP's, domain monitoring is especially critical for lists over 1 million addresses.

ISP Agreements
White list relationships have been built with key ISP's, anti-spam organizations, and others to ensure emails sent via our system reach the intended audience. We are listed on the "white list" for major ISP's, such as AOL, Juno, Yahoo, Compuserve, NetZero, and others. Our white list status allows mail sent from our system to be appropriately delivered to their customers without the potential for filtering.

Abuse Desk Management
One way to get in trouble with the anti-spam community is to avoid responding to email complaints. The abuse desk is managed by a team of email delivery experts and we work on behalf of our clients to respond to spam complaints received. If necessary, we follow up with our clients to ensure appropriate permission-based name capture policies and procedures are in place.

By knowing the efficacy of the name capture practices employed by our clients, we will defend the validity of the list and name capture practices to anti-spam organizations. This ensures that companies following standard opt-in and privacy guidelines can continue to experience optimal delivery rates.

SMTP Log Review
The best way to monitor the deliverability rates of an email is to monitor the email delivery logs. Our abuse desk team uses proprietary software to parse and review all email logs produced by our delivery engine to look for messages from remote servers that may indicate delivery problems. By reviewing these logs and recommending solutions to problems detected, we can ensure our clients continued optimization of email delivery rates.

Reply Mail Management
Our Reply Mail Management (RMM) option manages and removes "auto-replies," "out-of-office" replies and "unsubscribe requests" while returning real subscriber questions and comments to you. RMM manages all incoming email types using standard filtering as follows:

  • Auto-replies: Automatically filtered and deleted.
  • Out-of-Office replies: Automatically filtered and deleted.
  • Unsubscribe requests: RMM scans the subject line and email body of incoming reply mail for words such as “unsubscribe,” “remove” or “leave.” When these words are detected in an email, the subscriber is automatically unsubscribed from the list, and then the email is deleted.
  • Customer Questions/Comments: RMM allows the user to create an automated follow-up message to customers that reply with questions and comments. This automated email can include any copy designated by the user.

Can We Connect with Your Database? Sure!
Our software integrates seamlessly with business applications, including Sales Force Automation (SFA) tools, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) packages, ecommerce systems, and other data sources. We make this possible through our open Application Program Interface (API).

Subscriber Management
Want to maintain customer information in your own database? Use our API to dynamically add and update email lists directly from your CRM or SFA package.  Customers will even have the opportunity to update their information in your database.  No more emails asking to change someone’s home or email address!

Content Management
Need to integrate content from your site? We provide the ability to integrate remote content management systems via our API. Drive content directly to our system and easily add this content to email promotions or newsletters.

Event Notification
Want to capture email data back to your own database? Our Event Notification makes all email reporting available to remote systems. Capture opens, click-throughs, bounces, unsubscribes, and other delivery statistics back to your CRM package.

Remote/Self Triggering
Want to trigger email deliveries in-house? We provide a secure mechanism for you to automatically trigger list uploads or email deliveries.
